I have always believed that SpeakSmart students have immense potential. The vision that shaped the SpeakSmart Student Wing was my endeavour to provide them with a space where they have the freedom to give shape to their own creative ideas and grow. This allowed them to hone real world skills like taking initiative, collaborating, organising events and handling social media. As I watched their evolution, I believe they surpassed all expectations. It has been a game changer for us all, and my greatest pride has been a surprising ‘role reversal’.
My students transformed into teachers, judges, activists, visionaries, advisors and path breakers who are a source of inspiration for me.
The SpeakSmart Student Wing works as a loving (and loud) family whose collaborative effort has resulted in impeccable work and amazing execution of many power packed events!
Though we have Whatsapp groups filled with meeting schedules, deadlines, flyer options and strict instructions, it usually works parallel to a set of weird emojis, stickers, GIFs and loud buzzer sounds, and lots of love for each other and the organization as a whole!
